My boss sent me a timer that is shaped like a racoon because we’re going to try to follow the Pomodoro method. Programmers are a fairly stubborn bunch. We like figuring things out, but in a remote company it can be hard to recognize that you’ve gone off into the weeds into an unproductive ditch. The timer helps you relize time is passing and that it might be time to reach out earlier rather than later.

Pay Attention to the Instruction(s) is just plain good advice, even outside of setting up your raccon timer.
